ABOUT FAMILY FOOD CENTER
Family Food Center is a food bank in Nicholasville, KY that has been serving residents of Jessamine and Fayette Counties since 2013. We make a positive impact in our local communities by providing access to high-quality healthy food on a weekly basis. In January 2022, we celebrated the milestone of distributing over 1 million pounds of food to those in need! This amounts to approximately 23,027 families. We distribute food each Thursday evening from 5:00pm - 6:00pm.

Family Food Center believes that everyone who visits our center on Thursdays for food distribution should be served. Therefore, we do not have income restrictions or limits on the number of times a person may visit the Center. A valid Jessamine County or Fayette County ID is all that is required for registration each week.

In addition, Family Food Center sponsors weekly backpacks to Nicholasville Elementary School during the school year. This past school year marked the 10th year of participation in the school backpack program. To date, we have distributed approximately 4,200 backpacks to students! These packs provide each child with meals for the entire weekend.

Family Food Center's goal is to have a community where all have access to good, nutritious food and everyone understands the short and long-term effects of hunger and poor nutrition. Our mission is to create a thriving community by providing access to healthy and nutritious food. We aim for these goals each Thursday by serving those in our local communities. What are the requirements to receive food?
Family Food Center serves residents of Jessamine and Fayette Counties. There are no income requirements. All we ask is that you bring a valid and current ID. A driver’s license or current bill indicating your address is an acceptable form of ID.
What are the hours of operation?
Food Distribution is open from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Thursdays.

Can I pick up food at other times?
Our food distribution is only open on Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Is there a limit on the number of times I can pick up food for the month?
No. There is no limit to the times you may pick up food each month. We just ask that you only pick up once per distribution.
There are several family members in my household. Can I pick up more than 1 box of food?
We distribute 1 box of food per household.
I cannot make it to a food distribution day. Can someone else pick up my box of food?
At the current time, we do not allow people to pick up food for others.
Is Family Food Center open on holidays?
We are open on Thursdays. Any change to the schedule for a holiday will be posted and announced in advance.
